The Rebel Buddha, Guide to a Revolution of Mind – wonderfully represents a contemporary approach of the buddhas teaching on Buddhism, while also drawing comparative analysis on other forms of spirituality.
It introduces Ponlop’s entire publishing as a guided exploration to enlightening one’s mind with wisdom and compassion, often referring it as a contemplative process leading to insight or “freedom”- which in other terms defines “ the true nature of the mind”. Also kindly reminding us that the ethical ways to handling threats to our freedom, our independence, or arousals of fierce resistances (or provoked expressions) – is to channel the exact energy and to instead react by using a nurturing demeanor with compassion and wisdom.
The first chapter teaches us how to achieve Rebel Buddha status, that recognizing the power of the enlightened nature of our true mind-allows us to have complete awareness of our thoughts, emotions, and concepts. Consequently, adhering to this concept will elevate our level of maturity and achievement, enabling us to establish an almost alternate persona known as “Rebel Buddha,” which we can subsequently glorify.
This book was first introduced to me about 9 years ago by my favorite ex boyfriend, before I came across it again -during a hard time . It brought me comfort and enlightenment. I would recommend this book to young people and anyone needing comfort during tough times.
